Foley man killed following New Mexico semitrailers crash

A Foley man is dead following a two-vehicle crash Friday in New Mexico, the Santa Fe New Mexican is reporting.

Three other people were injured in a crash of two semitrailers Friday night on Interstate 40 about 80 miles west of Albuquerque.

New Mexico State Police said John Paul Oneal, of Foley, was a passenger in a semitrailer heading westbound. The driver, Jeffrey Gotreaux of Beaumont, Texas, was critically injured.

Police said the semis were traveling in opposite directions when the driver of the eastbound semitrailer crossed the median into oncoming traffic. The driver and passenger of the semi that caused the crash had non-life threatening injuries.

It is still unknown why the semi crossed into the oncoming lanes.
