Shoppers checking off Christmas lists at last minute

FALLS CHURCH, Va. (ABC7) —

From Tysons Corner to Falls Church, shoppers came out in full force on Saturday.

“We go up and down every aisle. Every aisle!” Arlington resident Alicia Avery said, laughing. “That’s why we’re still here!”

Avery calls the last minute shopping trip a “thrill.”

“It’s just a pattern every year. It’s the hustle!” she said.

It’s a hustle that she says lasted two hours on Saturday night.

“It’s really when you wrap them, then you realize he didn’t have as much as her and she doesn’t have as much as him,” said Arlington resident Molly Stevens, of picking up some last-minute items.

Mall shoppers dodged a steady downpour on Saturday evening.

“It’s just the rush of getting everybody’s stuff,” Avery said.

Some shoppers said they expected the lines to be longer than they were.
