PHOENIX - They are some of the best singers in the Valley, and right now they're getting ready for their big Christmas concert series.
The Phoenix Boys Choir has been rehearsing every note and every chime.
"The tour choir is our top level so they are comparable to all the major boy choirs in the world," said George Stangelberger, the choir's artistic director.
He walks every boy through every song. From the popular Christmas songs, to very technical pieces of music, Stangelberger says, "I don't think a lot of people realize how difficult it is to learn something like that and to teach something like that."
The group's touring choir has about 32 boys. They're the top performing singers. Altogether, the choir has about 100 members, and just like in sports, this is a team effort.
"They work together," said Stangelberger. "It's not possible to achieve the same kind of sound if one boy is missing."
The choir has been rehearsing for its Christmas concert since September.
